about

She's A Habit is the song that accompanies chapter four in "The continuing adventures of Meet The Blacks". You can find the story on the band's Facebook page. I confess that I've given the story a lot more attention than I've given the songs. I suppose this is due to the fact that I've spent a lot more time writing songs than writing stories. More enthusiasm for the part of me locked inside for years. I'm trying to find a balance now. CandyLand is the catalyst for all my endeavors lately. Over the last week, I've been listening to this small collection of demos. Sad. I'm on chapter fourteen now and although all the songs are written, very few are presented here. While I'm working on my next single for Robert James, I thought I'd revisit my Meet The Blacks project. I hope you're enjoying the story. Not much to say about this song yet, other than it's Meet The Black's first stab at country/reggae ... Lord help us all ... xoJB

lyrics

I don't smoke
I don't drink anymore
I was in the arms of cocaine
When she found me on the floor ...

She must've saw right through me
When she came to save the day
And banish all the habits I picked up along the way

I was up - I was out - every night
Looking for a good-time girl
To help me through the night ...
Struck down by an angel - tucked in the clouds of grey
She's a habit I picked up along the way

The nightlife almost killed me .. but the lonely days were worse
Some times a man can walk through life
And still not know he's cursed ...
Struck down by an angel - tucked in the clouds of grey
She's a habit I picked up along the way
She's a habit I picked up along the way ....

Just a habit - one more habit - aww .. a habit -

The nightlife almost killed me - but the lonely days were worse
Sometimes a man can walk through life
And still not know he's cursed ...

I don't smoke - I don't drink - anymore
Sometimes I take her worries
As I'm walking out the door -
Struck down by an angel - tucked in the clouds of grey
She's a habit ... I picked up along the way -
She's a habit I picked up along the way.

Just a habit - one more habit -
